2017 Broadcasting Preparations underway for 2017 Arunachaleswarar Temple Mahakumbhabhishekam
Proceedings on February 6, 2017 were broadcasted on 20 large LED screens
both in the Temple and in strategic spots around Tiruvannamalai.

Tiruvannamalai: All nine gopurams were painted. The 1,000-pillared
mandapam (main temple hall) was cleaned. The pillars of the central
mandapam were decorated with gold-coated iron plates. The temple
utensils were scrubbed and polished.
Holiday was declared for schools and colleges in the district. After 12
years, the stage was set for the grand consecration ceremony of
Arunachaleswarar Temple.
The rituals for the consecration of the temple began on January 31 with
12 kala homams conducted at 108 yaga kundams set up under a decorated
pandal on the temple premises.
The pots containing holy water and fire from yaga kundams were taken in a
procession around the deities of Lord Murugan and Lord Vinayaka.
A substantial amount towards the Rs 7.2 crore cost of renovation works
was undertaken by members of Nattukottai Nagarathar (Chettiar) Sangam.
